We are currently recruiting an experienced Chef Manager to lead the catering operation within a busy secondary education setting in the Minehead area. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chef Manager, Head Chef or experienced Catering Manager looking for a rewarding role offering a great work-life balance.

The Role

  • Leading and motivating the kitchen and catering team
  • Preparing and delivering fresh, high-quality meals
  • Menu planning and development
  • Managing food ordering, stock control and wastage
  • Controlling budgets and food costs
  • Managing allergens and dietary requirements
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
  • Ensuring compliance with HACCP, COSHH and Health & Safety
  • Managing rotas and supporting staff development
  • Delivering a consistently high standard of food and service

About You

  • Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager or Catering Manager
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills
  • Excellent food hygiene and kitchen compliance knowledge
  • Experience with ordering, stock management and cost control
  • A passion for producing fresh, nutritious food
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Education or contract catering experience would be advantageous

The Package

  • Salary: £35,000 per annum
  • Full-time position
  • Monday to Friday
