Eventus Legal are recruiting for a Private Family Law Solicitor to join the family law department of a well-established and respected law firm based in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.

This is a permanent, full-time position working within an experienced and supportive family team, handling a varied caseload of privately funded family law matters from instruction through to resolution.

The Role

As a Family Law Solicitor, you will manage your own varied caseload of family law matters, providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients during what can often be challenging and sensitive circumstances.

You will be responsible for handling matters from initial client consultation through to conclusion, working closely with clients to understand their objectives and provide practical, tailored advice.

  • Conducting initial client consultations and providing expert advice on a range of family law matters.
  • Managing a varied caseload including divorce, financial settlements, private children matters and domestic abuse matters.
  • Advising clients on legal options, potential outcomes and the best approach to achieve their objectives.
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents including applications, statements, agreements and court documentation.
  • Preparing cases for court hearings and representing clients where appropriate.
  • Negotiating settlements and exploring mediation and alternative dispute resolution opportunities.
  • Attending court hearings and advocating on behalf of clients.
  • Conducting legal research and keeping up to date with developments in family law legislation and procedure.
  • Maintaining regular communication with clients, providing updates and managing expectations throughout the matter.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to deliver an excellent client service.
  • Ensuring all files are managed efficiently and in accordance with compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring confidentiality and professional standards are upheld.
