Eventus Legal are seeking a permanent Conveyancing Assistant to join their residential property team in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. This full‑time role offers a supportive collaborative environment and exposure to a varied caseload of residential property transactions. Working Monday to Friday 9 am–5 pm, with a flexible working policy.
About the Role
As a Conveyancing Assistant you will provide essential support to fee earners and conveyancers across a busy residential property department, ensuring transactions progress efficiently from instruction to completion. The role offers variety and client interaction, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative legal setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support conveyancers with progression of residential property transactions from instruction to completion
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and third parties throughout transactions
- Coordinate client onboarding processes and ensure regulatory requirements are satisfied
- Manage anti‑money laundering checks, identification verification and source of funds procedures
- Prepare contract documentation and supporting papers for sales, purchases and remortgages
- Request searches and monitor outstanding enquiries to assist with transaction progression
- Assist with exchange and completion processes to ensure matters conclude efficiently
- Maintain accurate records and update case management systems throughout transactions
- Manage incoming correspondence, telephone calls and email enquiries professionally and promptly
- Support post‑completion administration and file closure activities
- Assist with diary management and general departmental administration where required

The successful candidate will already have experience within a residential conveyancing environment and will be comfortable supporting a busy team handling a varied workload. You will enjoy building relationships with clients and colleagues alike and will take pride in delivering a high standard of service while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Required Skills and Qualities
- Previous experience working as a Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Assistant, Conveyancing Administrator or Legal Secretary within residential property
- Good understanding of the residential conveyancing process and the various stages of a transaction
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands effectively
- A proactive approach with confidence to work independently when required
- Competent IT skills, including experience using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent attention to detail when preparing and reviewing documentation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and third parties
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
- A positive and collaborative attitude with a willingness to support colleagues across the team
