Eventus Legal is seeking a Solicitor to join the nationally recognised Child Abuse team of an award‑winning law firm based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Yorkshire’s leading legal practices, recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for three consecutive years. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of child abuse claims, including child sexual exploitation (CSE), grooming gangs and other abuse matters, while working within a specialist team committed to securing justice for survivors. This is a full‑time, permanent position offering a competitive salary up to £80,000 (DOE and PQE), flexible and hybrid working, excellent career development opportunities and the chance to work on nationally significant cases.

Role Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of child abuse claims, including CSE, grooming gang and other abuse cases from instruction through to conclusion.
  • Providing clear, practical legal advice whilst delivering exceptional client care throughout the legal process.
  • Reviewing and analysing evidence, medical records and legal documentation to build strong cases.
  • Attending client meetings across the North of England, providing support and guidance to vulnerable clients as and when required.
  • Liaising with counsel, experts and external agencies to progress claims effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate file management in accordance with compliance, regulatory and professional standards.
  • Recording and documenting meetings, ensuring all actions are completed promptly.
  • Managing files and finances in line with firm procedures and performance expectations.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues whilst contributing to the continued success and reputation of the department.

Person Specification

  • Applications are welcomed from Solicitors with experience in child abuse litigation or candidates with relevant claimant litigation experience looking to specialise in this area.
  • Qualified Solicitor (applications welcomed from NQ level upwards).
  • Experience managing or assisting with child abuse, abuse litigation or related claimant matters.
  • A sound understanding of child abuse law, particularly claims involving child sexual exploitation (CSE), grooming gangs and civil claims for survivors.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable clients.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities whilst maintaining high standards of client care.
  • Excellent organisational and file management skills.
  • A compassionate, empathetic and professional approach to supporting clients through sensitive matters.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a specialist legal team.
