Eventus Legal are seeking an ambitious Contentious Probate Solicitor or Legal Executive to join one of the UK’s leading commercial law firms, based within their modern commercial offices in Northampton, Northamptonshire. This is a permanent, full time job opportunity and would suit an ambitious Litigation Solicitor with experience dealing with Contentious Probate matters. Role Responsibilities
As a Contentious Probate Solicitor or Legal Executive in Northampton, Northamptonshire, your new job will see you working closely with the wider Litigation team taking responsibility for a varied caseload with a focus on Contentious Probate matters. You will be fully supported by an experienced and dynamic team and have a dedicated legal assistant to enable you to focus on providing high quality service to each and every client. This opportunity would suit an ambitious and confident Solicitor or Legal Executive with a solid background in Litigation who is looking to take a new challenge and diversify into dealing with contentious probate matters.
- Managing a varied caseload of contentious probate and general litigation matters
- Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research and initial case assessments
- Draft pleadings, statements of case and pre-issue documentation and file with the court as appropriate
- Attend court/conferences with or without counsel
- Organise exhibits, documents, evidence, and briefs
- Liaise with internal and external third parties
- Provide assistance with larger technical/complex claims within the team as and when necessary
- Supervise junior colleagues as and when required
Person Specification
Applications are sought from Contentious Probate Solicitors or Legal Executives who have a strong background handling a diverse range of general litigation/contentious matters.
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (ideally 5 years PQE+ but all levels of PQE are considered)
- Great communication skills and an ability to work well with others
- Ability to work under time constraints and prioritise workload
- Able to handle sensitive matters discreetly
- Good organisation skills with a methodical approach
- Self‑motivated and proactive
