Eventus Finance are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier or experienced bookkeeper to join a well-established and expanding multi-disciplined law firm in Leicester, Leicestershire. This is a full-time, permanent legal cashiering role within one of the City’s most reputable multi-service law firms. Benefits include flexible working hours, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, local transport links and a competitive salary in line with previous experience. This is an office-based role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the main Client and Office bank accounts and allocating receipts
  • Making online payments through Office and Client accounts
  • Liaising with the firm’s banks to resolve any payment concerns or issues
  • Liaising with fee earners and conveyancers
  • Processing completion statements, checking client ledgers, and administering high-value CHAPS and BACS payments for property purchases and sales
  • Performing daily or weekly reconciliations of client and office bank accounts, ensuring any discrepancies are swiftly identified and reported
  • Processing receipts and payments, posting disbursements and maintaining accurate sales and purchase ledgers
  • Ensuring all financial operations strictly adhere to the SRA Accounts Rules to protect client funds

Person Specification

  • Experience of working in a finance department as a Legal Cashier or a strong background in general bookkeeping
  • Numerate and accurate, with a keen attention to detail
  • Enjoy working in a team and have strong communication skills
  • Ideally 2 years’ experience of legal cashiering or bookkeeping
  • Good organisational skills essential
  • A good level of computer numeracy
