Eventus Legal are seeking an Employment Solicitor to join a successful and growing law firm in Leeds city centre, West Yorkshire. Job Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied caseload consisting predominantly of claimant Employment Tribunal matters, ensuring files are progressed efficiently and effectively while maintaining a high standard of client care throughout the process.
- Handling cases at all stages of the matter lifecycle, from taking initial client instructions and conducting case assessments through to progression, resolution, completion, and final file archiving, ensuring full compliance with internal office procedures, regulatory requirements, and accounts processes.
- Meeting with clients to take detailed instructions, identify key issues, assess legal merits, and provide clear, practical, and commercially focused advice tailored to each client’s circumstances.
- Liaising with and instructing Counsel, barristers, medical professionals, and other relevant experts where appropriate, ensuring all necessary evidence and specialist advice is obtained to support the progression of cases.
- Representing clients at Employment Tribunal proceedings, including Preliminary Hearings, advocating on their behalf and effectively presenting legal arguments and case positions.
- Drafting and preparing a wide range of Employment Tribunal documentation and pleadings, including ET1 and ET3 forms, witness statements, schedules of loss, applications, and supporting legal documentation.
- Advising clients on employment contracts, service agreements, and associated employment documentation, ensuring clients fully understand their rights, obligations, and any potential legal implications.
- Providing comprehensive advice on settlement agreements, including explaining the terms, legal effects, and implications to clients, ensuring they are able to make informed decisions.
- Maintaining and continually developing legal knowledge and technical expertise through ongoing professional development, monitoring changes in employment legislation, case law, and best practice to ensure accurate and up‑to‑date advice is provided at all times.
