Eventus Legal are seeking an Associate Solicitor to join a successful and growing law firm in Leeds city centre, West Yorkshire. This full-time, permanent job offers hybrid working following probation (2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days remote working from home), a salary of up to £80,000 (DOE), a profit-sharing scheme, private health insurance and excellent opportunities for career progression.
This Associate Solicitor job will involve managing executive exits, advising on contentious employment law matters and supporting the company's commercial team on employment-related aspects of wider corporate transactions. The successful candidate will join an established employment team and play an important part in the continued growth and success of the department.
Job Responsibilities:- Manage executive-level exits, including handling negotiations, settlements, and associated documentation
- Work on employment litigation matters, primarily claimant-side cases, with exposure to contentious employment issues
- Assist the company and commercial team in providing employment-related support to broader corporate matters
- Operate under the supervision and guidance of a partner, contributing to ongoing case strategy and client advice
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the Employment Tribunal process, including procedures, case stages, and best practice
- Support clients with both contentious and advisory employment law issues, ensuring practical and commercially focused solutions
- 5 years+ PQE within Employment Law
- Experience in respondent litigation (acting for employers) is desirable and will be considered an advantage
- Professional and friendly client care, with a strong focus on delivering a positive and supportive client experience
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with established procedures and processes
- Ability to interpret technical legal information and communicate complex issues in a clear, concise, and client-friendly manner
- Confident advocacy skills, with the ability to present and argue cases effectively both orally and in writing
- Clear and professional communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with clients and third parties in person
- Excellent telephone manner, maintaining professionalism and clarity in all client and external communications
- Strong written communication skills, producing accurate, well-structured letters, correspondence, and legal documents
- Confident IT skills with the ability to use relevant systems efficiently and effectively
- Quick learner, able to adapt to new systems, procedures, and areas of law as required
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload under supervision and meet client expectations and strict deadlines
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure while maintaining high standards of work
