Role Responsibilities

The successful Family Solicitor will be based in Guildford, Surrey and manage a varied caseload of privately funded family law matters, with a particular emphasis on financial remedy work.

Cases will typically involve mid to high value assets, with some matters involving assets valued at up to approximately £5 million.

Duties will include the following

  • Managing your own caseload of privately funded family law matters
  • Advising clients on divorce, dissolution and separation
  • Handling financial remedy negotiations and court proceedings
  • Advising on financial disclosure and preparing Forms E
  • Advising on cases involving property, savings, investments, pensions, maintenance and business interests
  • Preparing financial statements, schedules of assets and supporting documentation
  • Drafting applications, consent orders, correspondence and settlement proposals
  • Working with barristers, financial experts, pension experts and other professional advisers where required
  • Advising on pre-nuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements, and separation agreements where appropriate
  • Supporting clients through negotiations, mediation and other forms of dispute resolution
  • Representing clients throughout court proceedings and preparing cases for hearings
  • Providing clear, practical and realistic advice to clients facing difficult or stressful personal circumstances
  • Working closely with the partners and other members of the family law team in Guildford, Surrey
  • Attending selected networking and business development events
  • Contributing to the continued development and reputation of the family law department
