Eventus Legal Recruitment is seeking a Family Law Solicitor/Legal Executive to join a highly regarded and growing family law team based in Dorking, Surrey. This is a full time, permanent opportunity with a salary of £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience, hybrid working with one remote day per week, a bonus scheme, and strong future career progression opportunities as the team expands.
This role would suit a solicitor or legal executive with around 2 to 5 years PQE, although applications will also be considered from newly qualified solicitors or legal executives with strong family law experience gained during training. Candidates with more than 5 years PQE may also be considered, particularly where they have a following or are looking for future partnership prospects.
Role Responsibilities:
- Managing your own caseload of family law matters with appropriate support
- Advising clients on Family Law Act applications involving domestic abuse
- Advising on child arrangements, including section 8 court applications
- Advising on leave to remove applications and change of name matters
- Drafting family law applications, statements, and supporting documents
- Handling cases involving alienating behaviours and domestic abuse where required
- Advising on financial remedy settlements and applications
- Drafting separation agreements, Form Es, section 25 statements, consent orders, and court portal submissions
- Advising clients with business interests and working with PODEs where required
- Advising cohabiting partners, including cohabitation agreements and ToLATA 1996 matters
- Assisting with nuptial agreements where experience allows
- Carrying out advocacy where appropriate or developing advocacy skills with support
- Working closely with colleagues across a busy family law team in Dorking, Surrey
Person Specification:
- Applications are invited from Family Law Solicitors or Legal Executives who are confident managing their own case files and who are committed to providing sensitive, practical, and robust advice to clients.
- The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- Around 2 to 5 years PQE in family law, although other levels will be considered
- Membership of Resolution and a clear commitment to the Resolution code of practice
- Experience managing your own family law case files
- Experience in domestic abuse, children, and financial remedy matters
- Strong drafting skills across applications, statements, agreements, Form Es, and consent orders
- A genuine interest in supporting clients who have suffered domestic abuse
- The ability to manage a mixed caseload, including more complex family law matters
- A practical, client focused, and empathetic approach
- The confidence to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Advocacy experience, or a willingness to develop advocacy skills
