Eventus Legal are seeking a Court of Protection Paralegal to join a growing specialist team in Leicester, Leicestershire. This is a full-time, permanent job position offering hybrid working with two days per week in the office and remote working for the remainder of the working week. You will work directly with the Head of Department, gaining hands-on exposure to a broad Court of Protection caseload and regular client contact.

Travel is an essential part of the position, so a full UK driving licence and access to your own transport are required.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage matters with appropriate supervision while working closely with the Head of Department to deliver a high standard of client service.
- Manage your own Court of Protection caseload with supervision, including deputyships and associated applications.
- Handle applications relating to lifetime gifting and inheritance tax planning, statutory wills and other Court of Protection matters.
- Assist with expert witness work relating to deputyship costs in litigation matters.
- Work directly with the Head of Department and support other case handlers across the wider private wealth team as required.
- Attend clients, case workers and other third parties, including undertaking client and panel deputyship visits.
- Prepare and file correspondence, attendance notes and supporting documentation.
- Work to agreed deadlines, quality standards, financial targets and chargeable KPIs.
- Support the development and profile of the specialist Court of Protection team where required.
Person Specification
- The successful Court of Protection Paralegal will bring strong legal casework experience, excellent organisational skills and a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable clients and their families.
- A Grade C Paralegal or Fee Earner with previous Court of Protection experience.
- Applicants without direct Court of Protection experience will also be considered where they have strong paralegal experience in a high-volume area of law or Private Wealth.
- A genuine and demonstrable interest in Court of Protection law.
- Excellent communication, IT, time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and targets while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport are essential due to regular client and panel deputyship visits.
