Eventus Legal are seeking a Commercial Property Solicitor to join a growing law firm in Leeds, West Yorkshire. This is a full-time, permanent position for an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor, ideally with around 5-6 years' PQE or more, who can handle a genuinely broad commercial property workload with a high level of autonomy.
The position is offering a salary up to £65,000 (dependent on experience) and is office-based. It offers private healthcare, 25 days' annual leave, birthday leave, additional paid Christmas closure days, a performance-related bonus scheme and significant scope to help grow the department and progress into a senior leadership position.
Role Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial property matters from instruction through to completion
- Advising on commercial leases, lease renewals, new leases, subleases and surrenders
- Handling purchases and sales of commercial property, including mixed-use premises, offices and industrial sites
- Advising on landlord and tenant matters and other general commercial property issues
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating property documentation and providing clear, practical advice to clients
- Managing files efficiently using the firm's Proclaim case management system
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with commercial clients and professional contacts
- Contributing to business development and helping generate and secure new work for the department
- Supporting the future growth of the commercial property team, with the opportunity to develop and supervise junior colleagues as the department expands
Person Specification
- Applications are welcomed from experienced solicitors with broad commercial property expertise and the confidence to take ownership of their caseload.
- You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Ideally around 5-6 years' PQE or more within commercial property, together with a strong track record in the discipline
- Broad experience across commercial property rather than a background limited to one narrow area of work
- The ability to run matters autonomously while also working effectively as part of a team
- Strong commercial awareness and a practical, solutions-focused approach to client work
- A personable and composed manner, including the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Business development experience and the motivation to build relationships and generate new instructions
- A proven record of meeting appropriate fee or performance targets
- Strong client care, organisation, communication and attention to detail
- Confidence using legal technology and case management systems, with Proclaim experience advantageous but not essential
- Ideally a minimum 2:1 degree and good A-level results are preferred, although relevant experience and track record will also be considered
- A local connection to Leeds or the ability to commute reliably to the office on a full-time basis
