Eventus Legal are seeking a Children Panel Solicitor / Legal Executive to join a well-established law firm in Middlesbrough, Teesside. This is ideally a full-time, permanent job position, although applicants wishing to work four days per week will also be considered. The salary is in the region of £65,000, with the employer open to a conversation around individual expectations. The position offers hybrid working, alongside 25 days' annual leave on joining, which rises with service, private medical insurance and Group Life Assurance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Managing your own caseload of Care matters from instruction through to conclusion
  • Drafting legal documents and progressing case management effectively
  • Preparing and handling Legal Aid applications and using the CCMS portal confidently
  • Undertaking your own advocacy
  • Providing a high standard of client care with empathy and professionalism
  • Working towards achievable fee earner targets
  • Maintaining compliance with Legal Aid Agency processes and requirements

Person Specification

Applications are invited from experienced public children law specialists who can work independently while maintaining excellent client care and case management standards. To be considered for this Children Panel Solicitor / Legal Executive job, you will need to:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive
  • Be a member of the Law Society's Children Panel
  • Have an associated following of guardians
  • Have experience in Care Proceedings and public children law
  • Be confident undertaking your own advocacy
  • Have strong case management skills
  • Understand Legal Aid Agency processes, compliance requirements and the CCMS portal
  • Be able to manage a busy caseload without losing attention to detail
