Eventus Legal are seeking a Family Paralegal to join a well established Family and Matrimonial team in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire. This is a full-time, permanent job position offering a competitive salary of up to £30,000, hybrid working, 25 days' holiday, pension, local parking and excellent training and development. You will gain exposure to good quality private and publicly funded family work, attend court and work closely with an experienced Head of Department, with the opportunity to develop towards managing your own files.
Role Responsibilities
- Support an experienced family law team with a varied caseload of private and publicly funded family matters.
- Assist the Head of Department and wider family team with the progression of private and publicly funded family cases including divorce, separation agreements, pre and post-nuptial agreements, matrimonial finance, domestic abuse and violence and children and care matters.
- Prepare files and support the team in readiness for hearings and other key stages of each matter.
- Attend court as required and provide practical support during proceedings.
- Take increasing responsibility for matters as your experience and confidence develop.
- Manage your own files where appropriate, with ongoing supervision and support.
- Maintain accurate and well organised case files while working to relevant deadlines.
Person Specification
- Previous experience supporting family law matters within a dedicated family law team.
- An understanding of private or publicly funded family work, with exposure to both being advantageous.
- The confidence and professionalism to attend court and support clients through sensitive matters.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail when managing documents, deadlines and competing priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from experienced colleagues.
- The motivation to take on greater responsibility and progress towards managing files independently.
