Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Financial Adviser to join a growing advice team, whole of market financial planning firm in Altrincham, Cheshire. This is a full-time, permanent job paying a basic salary of £45,000 with an on target £75,000, and commission is paid on initial business from day one. Alongside the earnings sit an additional bonus of £3,600 a year once past six months, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays plus your birthday off, private medical cover and study support to Chartered.

The team is recruiting because more business is coming through than the team in post can handle, so the Financial Adviser joining in Altrincham, Cheshire walks into a diary that is already full.

Role Responsibilities

  • This is advice without prospecting.
  • Appointments arrive pre-booked through an established referral arrangement, starting with a fifteen minute introduction that converts into a first meeting and then a recommendation meeting.
  • The work is pensions, pension transfers and salary sacrifice, mostly over Teams, and the Financial Adviser is supported by a central research team that carries out the research and drafts the suitability letter for you to personalise.
  • Ongoing reviews are handled by a separate team, so the diary stays on new advice rather than filling up with servicing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising new clients on pensions, pension transfers and salary sacrifice.
  • Running first meetings and recommendation meetings from a pre-booked diary, largely over Teams.
  • Turning the fifteen minute introduction calls into completed advice cases.
  • Building recommendations with the central research team and personalising the suitability letter before delivery.
  • Working to the firm's advice process and compliance standards on every case.
  • Keeping client records accurate and up to date on the firm's back office system.
  • Working closely with the referral partner so the advice fits the client's wider position.

Person Specification

The firm is looking for an adviser a year or two into their advising career who wants higher earnings now and a growing business to build a long career in, whether the title today reads Financial Adviser, Financial Planner or Wealth Manager. Competent adviser status and the Level 4 Diploma are the entry points. There are no hang ups about where you have advised before, because the firm takes advisers from restricted backgrounds without issue.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Competent adviser status and the Level 4 Diploma in financial planning.
  • At least one year advising clients, ideally one to two years in an IFA or wealth management setting.
  • Comfort with volume and a pre-booked diary rather than building a client bank from scratch.
  • Pension transfer and salary sacrifice experience, or the appetite to specialise in it quickly.
  • Clear, straightforward communication with clients who are often new to advice.
  • The organisation to keep a full diary moving without letting cases stall.

Benefits and Rewards

A £45,000 basic with £75,000 on target (most advisers earn more), and commission is paid on initial business from day one rather than after a ramp-up period. The rest of the package is below.

  • Basic salary of £45,000 with an on target £75,000, commission paid on initial business.
  • Full-time and permanent, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, on site at the Altrincham office.
  • Additional bonus of £3,600 tax free every year, once past six months' service.
  • Employer pension contribution of 5%, with 3% from you.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, plus your birthday off.
  • Death in service cover at 4x salary.
  • Private medical cover.
  • Study support to Chartered.
  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme.

About the Company

The employer is a whole of market financial planning firm. There are no line managers anywhere in the business, so you have a job to do and support is put around you rather than someone put above you. Client assets have grown sharply over the past year and the firm is hiring around four advisers a year on a multi-year plan, so the Financial Adviser joining now is joining a business still expanding around them.
