Students will be available to begin a 3-month work placement with you from July 2026; however, there is some flexibility if you have a particular project in mind.

Here is a rough breakdown of the timeline:

  • Now → Employer call-out. We’re inviting companies to express interest and submit job descriptions.
  • From May 2026 → Student CVs sent to employers. You’ll begin receiving CVs from our work-ready postgraduate students. Interviews can start. Our students get snapped up very quickly, so please book interview dates as soon as you can.
  • From July 2026 → The placement start window opens month work placements begin.

We work closely with many leading organisations like yours to place our students at the heart of the event industry, and hope that you will want to participate in this programme this year. We are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, certified by the CPD Standards Office and endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality. Since the Event Academy is the no.1 event trainer in the UK, this gives us the unique ability to introduce you to some great new rising talent.

Benefits of Work Placements

All students come to us having either completed a degree or having previous relevant work experience, and are now dedicated to launching a career in the event industry. Work placements form a vital part of our students' studies and follow directly after the completion of their classroom-based training. We not only train students to be competent at designing and managing events, but also the all-important soft skills such as a strong work ethic, working as part of a team and resilience. When they complete their classroom studies, they are keen to put all they have learnt into practice within organisations like yours.

Costs

Students understand that their placement may be unpaid, as it forms part of their studies. However, our clients agree that our students bring real value to the workplace and deserve fair compensation, especially as they cover their own accommodation and living costs during their placement. Offering a competitive salary not only supports their financial well-being but also positions you as an employer of choice, helping you attract and secure the most capable and motivated talent. Those unable to offer a wage have contributed toward travel, sustenance, or other expenses. We hope you’ll consider joining them in supporting the next generation of event professionals.

Next Steps

If you are interested in taking on one of our students for a work placement, please send a job description here for the role(s) that you are offering at your earliest convenience. Please let our Career Services Team know if it would be helpful to have a quick chat to run through any details that you would like specific clarity on. Feel free to forward this to the relevant person at your organisation. We look forward to working with you.
