Description
As the VM Graphic Designer you will be supporting the 2D and 3D creative visual output for the brand cluster with guidance and direction from the VM Design Manager and Senior VM Design Manager. This role supports the creative design and technical execution of all visual merchandising requirements for the region. This includes new stores, remodels, refreshes, and relocations of all store environments (stand-alone stores, department stores, specialty multi-channel and pop-ups). All brand VM launches including lightbox updates, locator updates, locally designed tester units, pricing updates and all 2D consumer facing communication, window and pop-up designs, and launch guidelines for in-store teams to follow. There will be key stakeholder interfaces between the regional and global brand, particularly with global creative teams, ensuring continued innovation while adhering to brand guidelines. Concepting and ideating designs to help drive overall brand strategy and storytelling on all VM executions across the brand distribution. The role acts as a strategic partner to our brands, ensuring creativity is to the highest standards within the RDDC, reporting to the VM Design Manager. It requires positive team culture contributions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure brand equity is maximized at all times, in conjunction with brand and retailer guidelines
- Ensure consistent brand execution in the retail environment
- Align with the regional RDDC strategy
- New Store Opening/Renovations:
- Liaise with the store designer and Senior VM manager to ensure store designs are aligned to global guidelines and regional marketing strategy
- Create planogram/product layout, pricing updates for new store designs
- Work with the team to create print assets for new store openings
- Work with printer to ensure colour matching
- VM dressing at point of launch, and guidelines to support
- Implement new counter installations and refits including post installation follow up
- VM:
- Local adaptation of guidelines, including any local initiatives, designs and copy
- Storytelling with guidance from marketing
- Support the development of any local unit and POS
- Create concept drawings in 2D and 3D renders
- Review and approve detailed designs of displays
- Oversee the design of artwork required for display units, lightboxes, windows and in-store activations
- Assist with forecast of Main Line, Ancillary and POS units
- Create store installation guides
- Ensure stores reflect the VM strategy by adhering to VM guidelines
- Implement new counter installations and refits including post installation follow up
- Enforce high Visual Merchandising standards at all times
- Ensure clear messaging throughout all categories
- Be consumer focused
- Enhance store experience and services
- Champion housekeeping and maintenance in store
- Events & Education Guidelines:
- Conceptualise in-store events – work with store design where required
- Create collateral orders
- Create print assets for events; work with printer
Qualifications
- Highly creative with a strong sense of design
- Ability to generate ideas and designs and bring them to life
- Qualification in relevant 3D, 2D, product or graphic design
- Understanding of fonts, typographic hierarchy and graphic design principles
- Software: SketchUp, V-Ray, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with MAC Vectorworks (2D & 3D)
- Office 365 – Excel and Word capabilities
- Speed and accuracy; collaborative team player
- Keen to learn and develop within the Beauty sector
