The Estee Lauder Companies ("ELC") Global Legal Marketing and Regulatory Group provides legal advice and counsel to ELC and its brands in support of all marketing and advertising communications relating to product benefits and sustainability, as well as advising on other legal regulatory issues. The UK Legal Marketing Claim Associate works with the Group’s Attorneys in connection with reviewing and approving marketing assets, as well as with brand marketing teams in the UK, including but not limited to product performance and sustainability claims for UK legal compliance.
Responsibilities
- Review specific categories of assets to determine if they are consistent with product performance and sustainability claims previously legally approved for the UK.
- Review marketing assets created by the UK brand teams to determine if legally compliant, including review and assistance with promotional terms.
- Work with Global attorneys and UK brand teams on all Clearcast and QVC submission and approvals.
- Demonstrate sound judgement and creative and agile thinking to identify when differences between previously approved assets and newly created UK assets are significant and require escalation to Global Marketing and Regulatory Attorneys.
- Collaborate with the Attorneys to review and understand the support and basis for approved claims.
- Communicate approvals directly with UK Brand teams to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain and provide feedback to the Legal Marketing and Regulatory Group on improvements to processes and systems, including the organization of information, documentation and databases for completeness and efficiency of use.
Must have an understanding of claim substantiation for both cosmetic product benefit and sustainability claims, and express a strong desire to learn.
Qualifications
- Strong commitment to integrity, ethical business conduct and compliance with the law.
- Project management experience.
- Microsoft Office 365, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI and A.I. skills.
- Database design and management experience.
- Cross cultural sensitivity and familiarity with large, complex global organizations.
- Interest in Marketing and Regulatory issues, as well as environmental and social corporate governance.
- Exercises good judgment, and is highly organized, process‑driven, detail‑oriented, responsible and conscientious.
- Agile, creative thinker with prior work experience in a product regulatory, marketing substantiation, or sustainability function a plus.
- Collaborative and inquisitive, creatively works to identify and solve problems.
- IT savvy, including A.I., and highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Familiarity with learning management systems, and an ability to quickly learn new technology, systems and programs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and confidential matters in a highly discrete and sensitive manner.
- Good time and resource management skills.
- Friendly and professional with an ability to interface with executive and non‑executive colleagues across the globe.
- Possesses a high level of social and emotional intelligence to motivate and champion the adoption of necessary changes among stakeholders.
