Esland Shropshire School is seeking an outstanding SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing, specialist provision supporting vulnerable young people aged 8 to 18 years who have SEND and SEMH needs. The role: As a SEN Teacher, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs. You will:

  • Plan and deliver lessons across core subjects (English, Maths, Science)
  • Support pupils’ academic and personal development through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies
  • Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times

Requirements for a SEN Teacher:

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
  • Experience teaching KS3 and/or KS4 and across a range of subjects
  • Strong understanding of SEND, particularly SEMH
  • Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking
  • Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

Desirable:

  • A degree or qualification in psychology
  • A higher degree or equivalent
