Esland’s The Retreat Home, rated Good by Ofsted, is looking for a Senior Children’s Residential Care Worker to join our passionate, dedicated team. Every day here is full of purpose, growth, and the chance to make a lasting impact.

Nestled in a peaceful residential area, The Retreat is a place where children thrive. Our young people enjoy a mix of hobbies, including:

  • Outdoors & Experiences: trips to parks, shopping, trampolining, meals out and clubs
  • Indoors: cooking, movie nights & gaming.

We provide a safe, nurturing environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver high-quality care and emotional support to children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Inspire brighter futures with consistency, compassion, and resilience.
  • Be part of a dedicated team in a 365-day service, with structured rotas and long shifts (7.30am–11pm), including sleep-in nights.

What You’ll Earn

  • Annual salary: £38,554 (based on £15.45/hour + 8 sleep-ins/month; dependent on qualifications) (Pay rate effective from 1st April 2026)
  • Opportunity for additional earnings through enhanced overtime and extra shifts.

What You’ll Need

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Level 3 qualification in Child Care
  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in children’s residential care
  • Must be 21+ and have the right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
