Esland Daven School is an established specialist provision, supporting children and young people aged 8–18 with SEND and SEMH needs. We are seeking a committed and skilled SEN Lead Maths Teacher. Using our “Turning the Curve” model, we support our pupils to overcome barriers to learning and build towards a positive new chapter.
The role: As a SEN Teacher and subject lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs. You will:
- Plan and deliver lessons across core subjects (with a particular emphasis on Maths)
- Support pupils’ academic and personal development through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies
- Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times

Requirements for a SEN Teacher:
- Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
- A minimum of 2 years post graduation experience
- Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH
- Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking
- Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
- Desirable: Subject/Department leader experience (or acting leadership experience)
- Experience in teaching across alternative subjects (and a willingness to support other departments as the team grows)
