Esland Daven School is an established specialist provision, supporting children and young people aged 8–18 with SEND and SEMH needs. We are seeking a committed and skilled SEN Lead Maths Teacher. The role: As a SEN Teacher and subject lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs. You will:

  • Plan and deliver lessons across core subjects (with a particular emphasis on Maths)
  • Support pupils’ academic and personal development through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies
  • Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times

Requirements for a SEN Teacher:

  • Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
  • A minimum of 2 years post graduation experience
  • Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH
  • Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking
  • Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • Desirable: Subject/Department leader experience (or acting leadership experience)
  • Experience in teaching across alternative subjects (and a willingness to support other departments as the team grows)
