Be the stability a young person needs. Join Esland as a Children’s Adventure Care Worker and help shape brighter futures through care, intervention and activities.
Hours: 4 days on, 6 days off (with sleep nights). We are a 365 day a year service due to the nature of our work. Rotas are given in advance.
Pay rate: £38,475 to £40,815 per annum.* Includes opportunities to pick up extras shifts / overtime at an enhanced rate
Peak View Assessments Home is a charming converted farmhouse surrounded by the beautiful High Peak countryside. With a trauma-informed approach, this two-bed setting provides therapeutic care that supports emotional healing and personal development.
Over a 12 week placement, our assessment strategy helps us understand what is truly right for a young person and their needs
Every placement provides PACE principles, therapeutic care, access to education and the opportunity to participate in an outdoor adventure programme.
The work and commitment of our teams, helps us to determine what support a young person requires and defines their next steps.
Key duties of a Children’s Adventure Care Worker:
We are looking for a nurturing and supportive person, who can give our children high levels of therapeutic care and help them to achieve amazing outcomes. In your role, you will:
- Support 8 to 18 year olds in a residential care setting
- Create a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where they can flourish
- Plan and take part in exciting activities—from outdoor adventures to creative projects
- Be a positive role model, helping build confidence, resilience, and life skills
- Work as part of a passionate, supportive team that values every voice

Requirements for a Children’s Adventure Care Worker:
- Experience in a children\’s residential care home (highly desirable)
- A level 3 (or above) diploma in residential childcare (desirable)
- Experience within care, education, mental health support and/or youth activities (essential)
- A Full driving licence issued in the UK (essential)
- Applicants must have full right to work in the UK with no restrictions (essential)
- Values in line with Esland\’s, such as taking a therapeutic, person-centred approach to childcare (essential)
- A keen interest in outdoor and adventure activities (essential)
- Due to industry regulations, applicants must be aged 21 or above (essential)
