Eresby Special School is a specialist Academy for pupils aged 2 to 19 years with a diverse range of highly complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are situated in Spilsby in Lincolnshire and are fortunate to access a wide range of services and providers in our local community, with whom we are proud to work alongside.
The Pastoral & Safeguarding Support Officer is responsible for promoting the safety, wellbeing and emotional development of pupils by providing high-quality pastoral support across the school.
30 hours per week, 39 term time weeks. Permanent role.

We are looking for someone who displays:
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Relevant Level 3 qualification in Education, Childcare, Health and Social Care, Youth Work, Counselling or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to undertake Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) training and ongoing safeguarding professional development.
- Evidence of applying continued professional development and improvements.
- Designated or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead training.
- Experience of adapting activities to meet a range of individual needs.
- Experience of supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Experience of working collaboratively with teaching staff to support pupils experiencing dysregulation.
- Experience of maintaining accurate and confidential records.
- Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support pupils and their families.
- Experience of supporting safeguarding processes or acting as a safeguarding deputy.
- Experience of using safeguarding systems such as CPOMS.
- Experience within a special school, specialist provision or alternative provision.
