An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an Export New Business and Delivery Team supporting the delivery of strategically important export programmes. The role is ideal for someone with a background in engineering, systems integration, project engineering or technical delivery who is looking for a challenge and wants to broaden their experience in a fast paced, customer facing environment.

Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The Opportunity:

Being an integral part of the team, you will help manage the complex and challenging technical interface between the company and the Export customer, including the Combat System and Platform Integration of a complex weapon system on to a maritime platform. You will further play an important role in helping to deliver the technical scope of Sea Ceptor export contracts, working at the intersection of engineering delivery, customer engagement and programme execution.

You will support the Head of Export Engineering Delivery in delivering the technical elements of specific Export contracts, ensuring that customer requirements are understood, internal teams are aligned, risks are managed and the contractual scope is delivered.

  • Work to ensure customer requirements, sequencing and contractual scope are understood across engineering teams
  • Support the coordination and resolution of technical issues by ensuring that export customer requirements and needs are considered
  • Support customer discussion on the technical solution, delivery process and sequencing to ensure alignment and protect contractual scope
  • Prepare clear technical summaries and briefing packs by interpreting engineering outputs for internal and external audiences
  • Assist in developing Statements of Requirement and Statements of Work, gathering and aligning inputs from subsystem teams
  • Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement across current and future export contracts
  • When required support the New Business Team and the MBDA Sales and Business Development Team in the generation of new costed proposals and negotiating new Sea Ceptor contracts, particularly focussing on the Statement of Work and Product Specification.

What We're Looking For From You:

  • Experience in working in complex and technically challenging defence programmes
  • An ability to act with a high degree of autonomy to deliver complex programmes with an ability to manage multiple stakeholders working with ambiguity.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage inputs from multiple subsystem teams
  • The confidence to interpret and communicate technical information clearly, both internally and to overseas customers
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills to align internal teams understanding and ensure delivery against contractual scope
  • Awareness of commercial and contractual considerations and how technical decisions influence cost, schedule and scope.
  • When required ability to travel both within the UK and overseas
  • Preferably strong knowledge of products and domain of operation including an understanding of Combat System and platform Integration
