A well-established engineering services provider is seeking a Generator Engineer to join its Southern England team based in Crawley. This is a full-time, permanent position supporting a diverse client base across the region. Reporting to the Regional Service Manager, the successful candidate will deliver maintenance, installation, fault diagnosis, repair and testing services across diesel generator sets, switchgear, control systems and associated equipment. Work will be carried out both at customer sites and company service locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on diesel generators and associated equipment
- Performing diagnostics, testing and remedial repairs
- Providing call-out support for generator breakdowns on a rota basis
- Attending client sites to carry out servicing and technical support
- Forecasting and identifying spare parts requirements for planned works
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience within generator engineering or a similar field
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding experience
- Qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent technical background
- Ability to produce accurate technical reports with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and managing site-based work
Salary & Benefits
- £38,000 - £44,000 salary package + OT + On Call Pay (1 in 5)
