The WMS / Business Central Integration Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting integrations between Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The role ensures seamless data exchange across warehousing, inventory, logistics, procurement, and finance processes while maintaining system performance, integrity, and scalability. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Central ERP Project teams, Operations, Supply Chain, and third-party software vendors to deliver robust integration solutions that support business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integration Development
    • Design, develop, and maintain integrations between WMS/TMS platforms and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
    • Build and support API, Web Service, EDI, and file-based integrations.
    • Develop extensions and customisations using Microsoft AL language and Business Central development tools.
    • Configure and maintain data synchronisation processes for:
      • Inventory movements
      • Goods receipts
      • Sales order fulfilment
      • Purchase order receipts
      • Shipment confirmations
      • Invoicing
    • Ensure real-time or near-real-time data exchange between systems.
  • Solution Design
    • Analyse business requirements and design scalable integration architectures.
    • Produce technical specifications, mapping documents, and solution designs.
    • Recommend best-practice approaches for warehouse and ERP integration.
  • Support & Troubleshooting
    • Monitor integration performance and resolve data transfer issues.
    • Diagnose root causes of application, middleware, and data-related problems.
    • Support business users during testing, deployment, and hypercare activities.
    • Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
  • Project Delivery
    • Participate in ERP, WMS, Finance and digital transformation projects.
    • Collaborate with business Project Managers, SMEs, Solution architects, Consultants, and third-party vendors.
    • Manage development activities through the full software development lifecycle.
    • Support UAT and production deployments.
  • Data & Process Management
    • Develop data validation and exception handling processes.
    • Maintain master data integration standards.
    • Ensure data accuracy between ERP and warehouse systems.
    • Support reporting and operational visibility requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to automate warehouse and Finance processes.
    • Enhance integration performance, reliability, and maintainability.
    • Stay current with Business Central, Azure, and integration platform developments.
