The Opportunity
We are looking for an outgoing and proactive customer facing person, to help Georgina (Managing Director) to grow the business (no pun intended)
Evergreen is a 10-person family business founded in 2002.
The culture is warm, friendly, and people help each other to succeed.
Customers keep coming back because they always ‘find a way’ to make the client’s space look fantastic, with bespoke products at affordable prices.
As a result they are consistently busy, but there is potential for more.
The opportunity is to help Georgina to increase sales, by working with existing customers, speaking with historical clients and building new relationships.
Bring your sales skills, deliver excellent quality for customers, get bonuses for great work, and help this small business to fulfil its potential!
The Role
Business Development - Existing Relationships
- Analyse the database of existing customers, reconnect with previous clients to find opportunities for further work, repeat business and referrals.
- Target interior designers, landscapers, office fit out firms and property developers who could benefit from Evergreen’s products.
Business Development – Outbound Sales
- Build relationships with potential partners and customers, on email and phone calls.
Client Management – Inbound Sales
- Own selected customer enquiries on phone and email.
- Qualify opportunities including the size, budget, timescale, decision-makers and likelihood of the project going ahead.
- Build trust through providing honest advice, guiding customers to the right solution.
- Handover high-value enquiries to Georgina if appropriate.
- Prepare quotes and proposals and follow them up with purpose until the customer makes a decision.
Strategic Work
- Work with Georgina to input into the Evergreen Sales and Marketing strategy.
- Provide ideas that could increase revenue and turn the ideas into action.
- Share customer insights with Georgina, including common requests, objections, and gaps in the product range.
- Support sales and marketing activity by gathering testimonials, developing case studies and contributing ideas for email or LinkedIn content.
- Build an excellent understanding of Evergreen’s products, target customers etc.
- Turn customer briefs into workable solutions with support from the workshop team.
- Keep the CRM up to date with details of each enquiry.
The Person – Requirements
- Existing experience in a sales role, Account management or customer service.
- Happy to ‘cold contact’ people that we do not have an existing relationship with.
- Experience in Interior design, horticulture, landscaping, visual merchandising, office interiors, furniture, property styling or another design-led field.
- Consultative person with a good visual eye, able to turn a customer’s brief into a tailored solution.
- Commercial judgement, to understand which opportunities are likely to convert.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Confident and warm person, you ask great questions to understand customer needs.
