Are you a technically strong pensions professional looking to step into a project-focused role? I\’m currently working with a leading organisation that’s looking for a Senior Pensions Data Technician to join their growing Scheme Events team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong DB pensions experience and a passion for data accuracy, problem-solving, and process improvement.

In this role, you\’ll lead on key pension scheme projects, drive data transformation, and play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of scheme events.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the delivery of scheme events and complex data projects across occupational pension schemes.
  • Extracting, transforming, and cleansing pensions data to meet project requirements.
  • Conducting and reviewing bulk pension calculations and providing technical oversight to junior team members.
  • Using advanced Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, date calculations, data validation, macros).
  • Collaborating with project managers and scheme leads to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Building mail merge letters and managing bulk communications.
  • Creating clear audit trails and ensuring all work meets compliance and regulatory standards.

What We\’re Looking For

  • Solid experience working with Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes.
  • Strong technical understanding of pension calculations and scheme events.
  • Excellent Excel skills (you’ll be tested as part of the interview process!).
  • Prior experience reviewing or checking technical pension work.
  • Strong attention to detail, project delivery mindset, and great communication skills.
  • A-level Maths or a degree with a mathematical/data focus – or equivalent work experience in a data-heavy role.

Nice to Have

  • PMI qualifications or currently working toward them.
  • Experience with pension administration and workflow systems.
