I am seeking an experienced Property Claims Handler to manage claims from initial notification through to settlement. This role requires strong communication, organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage new claims promptly, maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Appoint appropriate specialists (e.g., loss adjusters, engineers, solicitors) where needed.
  • Communicate with policyholders, brokers, and third parties to gather documentation and provide updates.
  • Maintain a commercial yet customer-focused approach to claims handling.
  • Escalate issues of underwriting interest to the Department Manager.
  • Keep claim files up to date within the e-filing system.
  • Participate in internal and external claims meetings as required.
  • Liaise with industry bodies and internal departments when necessary.
  • Ensure all actions align with the company’s interests and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in claims handling, primarily property-related (liability experience beneficial).
  • Strong numerical and communication skills.
  • Confident in dealing with clients and professionals (e.g., brokers, solicitors).
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proactive and accountable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
