Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office)

Purpose: Lead the investigation and handling of complex UK liability claims (EL, PL, Products), while supporting business growth and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex liability claims from first notification to settlement.
  • Conduct site visits and liaise with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, claimants, and insureds.
  • Prepare detailed preliminary, interim, and final reports covering liability, quantum, and strategy.
  • Instruct and manage legal, technical, and forensic experts as required.
  • Calculate and agree interim and final settlements.
  • Act as a senior referral point and mentor within the liability team.
  • Support development of existing client relationships and generation of new business.
  • Represent insurers in meetings, mediations, and market discussions.
  • Contribute to the growth and market profile of the UK Liability practice.

Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience handling complex UK liability claims.
  • Experience with external investigation is desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of policy coverage and liability law.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Confident communicator with experience in senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Able to work autonomously while contributing to team objectives.
