- Independent management of acute and routine presentations within agreed scope
- Management of long terms conditions and chronic diseases (e.g. asthma, diabetes, COPD, hypertension, frailty, dementia, LD)
- Same-day and pre-booked appointments (face-to-face, telephone, and online)
- Requesting and interpreting investigations
- Developing and reviewing management plans in collaboration with supervising GPs
- Contributing to clinical decision-making within the MDT
- Supporting and mentoring less experienced PAs or trainees if required
- Participation in audits, QI projects, and practice development
- Accurate and timely clinical documentation using EMIS
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physician Associate to become part of our clinical team for a initial fixed term of six months to cover maternity with potential to extend. This role is ideally suited to a PA with strong primary care experience, who is confident in assessing and managing undifferentiated presentations. The successful candidate will also have a particular interest and expertise in chronic disease management, working collaboratively under appropriate GP supervision.
The Elms Surgery is a forward-thinking, well-established GP practice caring for approximately 9000 patients. We have a strong multidisciplinary team including experienced 3 GPs, 5 Physician Associates, a Clinical Pharmacist, first contact physiotherapist, and social prescriber. Clinicians are supported by an efficient and friendly Admin & Reception team.
