About The Practice
The Elms Medical Centre is a well‑established training practice providing patient‑centred care for our population of 9,850 patients. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our experienced and friendly team on a salaried GP position working six sessions per week. The post holder will support the clinical team to manage a busy and interesting surgery.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all the clinical duties and responsibilities of an NHS General Practitioner using the standards expected by the GMC and RCGP, in line with appropriate national and/or local guidelines.
- Surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, triage, home visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions.
- Participate in our total triage system and take part in on‑call or duty doctor responsibilities.
- Make professional autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
- Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Record all relevant data to aid the practice in meeting its performance targets.
- Compile and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
- Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever clinically appropriate.
- Undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
