About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and organised individual to join our Music Department, playing a vital role in maintaining a vibrant and inspiring learning environment. This position focuses on the care, upkeep, and management of a wide range of musical instruments and equipment. You will ensure teaching spaces remain clean, safe, and fully equipped, while carrying out regular maintenance such as tuning, minor repairs, and coordinating specialist servicing when required. Your attention to detail will help ensure that both students and staff have access to high‑quality resources at all times. Alongside technical responsibilities, you will provide essential day‑to‑day support to the department, contributing to both classroom learning and a rich co‑curricular programme. This includes supervising students during practice sessions, supporting rehearsals, maintaining registers, and assisting with administration tasks. You will also act as a key point of contact for enquiries and help ensure smooth coordination of departmental activities, while promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students. The role also involves supporting music technology and live events, including the setup and operation of sound and lighting equipment for concerts, productions, and performances.

About You:
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual with strong technical and administrative abilities to support two busy Music Departments. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and tuning a range of instruments, including guitars, drums, brass, and woodwind, alongside the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and confidently set up and operate live sound equipment. Strong organisational skills are essential, with experience in managing stock, arranging events, and using systems such as Office 365. A working knowledge of music software, such as Logic Pro or Musescore, and experience working with children—ideally within a school setting—will be highly advantageous. This role requires a proactive, reliable, and adaptable team player who can work both independently and collaboratively. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, effective time management, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A commitment to supporting students’ learning and development is key, along with a willingness to share knowledge, take part in further training, and go the extra mile to enrich students’ experiences. A GCSE‑level education including Maths and English is essential, and a degree in Music or Music Technology would be desirable.
