what can you expect in this role?
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Under the general supervision of the Cluster Project Lead, he/she is responsible for:
1. Management activities (50%)
lDevelop and submit a budgeted monthly work plan in line with the project work plan, clearly showing planned activities, results, timelines, targets and verification indicators.
lFully ensure the implementation of the monthly work plan in line with budget in the most efficient manner.
lEnsure effective collaboration with the multidisciplinary team on site to achieve project objectives
lOrganize in-service training sessions in conjunction with the Cluster Project Lead according to a defined and validated schedule.
lConduct and facilitate formative supervision and ongoing training for health care providers to ensure quality of services along the HIV/AIDS care cascade.
lHold weekly and monthly coordination meetings with staff involved in the HIV/AIDS program to review performance, identify problems and possible solutions.
lOrganize monthly feedback meetings with the Hospital Director and the Hospital Medical Advisor to provide high-level feedback and present challenges and opportunities.
lMonitor and evaluate the data collection and reporting system as well as the performance of the health facility\’s HIV/AIDS care and treatment.
lDevelop and submit the monthly activity and expense reports.
2. Clinical activities (50%)
lSupport the implementation of national HIV/AIDS programme guidelines, including antiretroviral treatment and treatment of advanced HIV infection
lSupport the implementation of Index Case testing with a focus on sexual contacts of newly diagnosed HIV patients and those with a high viral load;
lEnsure diagnosis and management of cases of treatment failure, TB/HIVco-infections, advanced HIV infection, as well as initiation ofsecond- or third-line antiretroviral therapy;
lProvide care to all patients in a way that respects their uniqueness, using sound judgment, individual skills and qualifications, and collaboration with the care team.
lEnsure continuous training and mentoring of the multidisciplinary medical/paramedical team in order to optimize the quality of care and empower staff.
To be successful, you will have:
lMedical degree with at least seven years of experience in the clinical management of HIV patients.
lRegistration with the National Order of Physicians of Cameroon is mandatory.
lAt least five years of experience in a health services management position in a hospital or health district
lTraining in project management would be an asset.
lA very good command of the Microsoft Office software package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is mandatory.
lFluency in French is a key requirement and working knowledge of English is an advantage.
lStrong work ethic and ability and willingness to work under pressure.
lAbility to work in a team and willingness to learn.
