The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation
About The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1988, the organization was established by Elizabeth Glaser, who was determined to find a way to prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to their children. Today, EGPAF operates in over 19 countries, providing vital services to families affected by HIV/AIDS.
Our mission is to eliminate pediatric HIV/AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention efforts. We work tirelessly to ensure that every child has access to life-saving treatment and care. Our programs focus on:
- Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT): We implement comprehensive strategies to prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to their infants.
- Access to Treatment: We advocate for and provide access to antiretroviral therapy for children and their families.
- Research and Innovation: We invest in research to develop new treatments and improve existing ones.
- Community Engagement: We empower communities through education and support, ensuring that families understand their health needs.
EGPAF collaborates with governments, NGOs, and local communities to create sustainable solutions that address the challenges of HIV/AIDS. Our vision is a world where no child is born with HIV and where all those living with the virus can lead healthy, fulfilling lives. Through our dedicated efforts, we strive to make this vision a reality.
