We are Wiser, a global, award‑winning Employer Brand agency. We build employer brands to guide the best in the biz into their dream career with our clients. We transform a company’s employer brand internally and externally and change cultures from the ground up. Our clients have a single partnership with Wiser and we deliver end‑to‑end campaigns helping them to attract and retain the best talent globally.

This is a pivotal hire for Wiser. As Management Accountant, you’ll be the operational engine of our finance function, keeping the numbers accurate, the processes tight, and the team informed. You’ll work closely with our Head of Finance to ensure month‑end runs like clockwork, our P&L and balance sheet are always in good shape, and our people know exactly who to turn to when they have a finance question. You’ll manage our outsourced accounting team based in Sri Lanka, who handle our month‑end reconciliation and bank‑reconciliation processes. Your job is to own the quality of their output, review their work, and ensure everything lands accurately in our books. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership.

What will you spend your time doing?

  • Month‑End & Financial Reporting: Manage and review the work of our outsourced Sri Lanka team, ensuring month‑end reconciliation and bank‑reconciliation processes are completed accurately and on time. Own the month‑end close process end‑to‑end, including the preparation and posting of accrual and deferral journals. Ensure the P&L and balance sheet are accurate, reconciled and review‑ready each month. Identify and resolve any discrepancies or anomalies in the accounts, escalating material issues to the Head of Finance.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the AP and AR cycle, ensuring invoices are processed, approved and paid on time. Maintain clean supplier and client ledgers and resolve queries promptly. Support the Head of Finance with cash‑flow visibility through accurate AR and AP reporting.
  • Business Partnering & Internal Support: Be the first point of contact for finance queries from employees across Wiser – approachable, responsive, and solutions‑focused. Support department heads with financial queries relating to their budgets, project costs or invoicing. Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure billing and revenue recognition is aligned with contractual terms.
  • Systems & Process: Work within QuickBooks and our wider finance tech stack (including Airtable) to maintain accurate records and support automation initiatives. Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes, helping reduce manual effort and increase accuracy. Support the Head of Finance in rolling out new financial policies, trackers, and dashboards as the function evolves.

What are we looking for?

  • Part‑qualified or are in the advanced phase of the exams (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • 3–5 years of experience in a finance role, ideally within a creative, media, professional services, or agency environment.
  • Solid experience managing month‑end close processes, including journals, reconciliations and P&L review.
  • Comfortable managing and reviewing the work of outsourced or remote finance teams.
  • Hands‑on experience with AP/AR processes and maintaining ledger accuracy.

Skills & Mindset:

  • Strong attention to detail – you notice things others miss and you take pride in clean numbers.
  • Clear communicator who can explain financial concepts to non‑finance people without making them feel like they’re back in school.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload across multiple priorities.
  • Proactive and process‑minded – you don’t just spot a problem, you fix it and document it so it doesn’t happen again.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks (or willingness to get up to speed quickly).
  • Comfortable working across time zones and collaborating with remote teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a creative or employer branding agency.
  • Exposure to R&D tax credit processes, VAT returns & year‑end process.
  • Experience with project‑based accounting or revenue recognition.
  • Familiarity with Airtable or similar workflow tools.
