Eleven have been retained by a growing Engineering company seeking a Structural Steel Design Engineer to join their in-house design team, supporting bespoke projects across Industrial Process Plant Clients / Installations. Based in Staffordshire, this is a hands-on, technical design role for someone who enjoys turning concepts into fabrication-ready drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models in Autodesk Advance Steel from surveys or design inputs.
- Conduct point cloud surveys onsite using scanning equipment (occasional travel).
- Produce 2D fabrication and GA drawings from 3D models.
- Perform structural calculations using Structural Pack.
- Collaborate with fabrication/install teams on practical and safe build designs.
- Apply BS EN ISO 14122 parts 1-4 and other standards in all designs.
Requirements:
- HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
- Demonstrable experience in steelwork design, fabrication, or installation.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Advance Steel or other 3D steelwork software.
- Understanding of structures like platforms, staircases, pipe supports, etc.
- Comfortable working onsite and engaging with other teams.
