Quality Engineer in Wigan

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Salary: £33,000 – £37,000

Job Type: Full-Time

Our client is a growing electronics manufacturing and design business, who have reached a critical stage in their growth where we need a quality engineer to manage the documentation and inspection processes for the products they make.

The ideal candidate shall have an engineering background from a quality perspective with an attention to detail type attitude.

Main Responsibilities:

• Document and maintain work instructions to ensure assembly staff can build any of our products with minimal supervision.
• Introduce checking and testing procedures for inspections at all stages of manufacture, working with engineering to develop test rigs.
• Compile statistics to demonstrate areas that require fixes and also report improvements metrics.
• Maintain the ISO 9001 documentation and work closely with external auditors and consultants to ensure compliance with international standards.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing to ensure best assembly procedures are developed.
• Visual inspections of finished products prior to release.
• Checking of drawings prior to release to customers.
• Assistance with developing engineering documentation structures, how our internal and customer data is managed to ensure resilience to IT issues.
• Programming the automatic optical inspection machine to check PCB placement quality (training provided).
