Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, HLTA or Learning Support Assistant looking for a new long-term opportunity?

The Education Specialists (TES) are currently recruiting on behalf of Fairfield House School in Trafford for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant / HLTA to join their team.

This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right person.

What will you be doing?

As a SEN TA / HLTA, you’ll play a key role in supporting pupils to access learning, develop their confidence and achieve their individual goals.

You’ll work alongside teachers and the wider school team to:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
  • Support pupils with their learning and development
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Encourage independence and confidence
  • Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities
  • Take on additional responsibilities where appropriate if working at HLTA level

Who are we looking for?

We’re interested in hearing from candidates with experience supporting children or young people with:

  • SEN / SEND | Autism | ADHD | SEMH | Complex Needs | Challenging Behaviour
  • You could currently be working as a:
  • SEN Teaching Assistant
  • HLTA
  • Learning Support Assistant
  • Behaviour Support Worker
  • Support Worker
  • Youth Worker
  • Teaching Assistant

Experience in a specialist school, mainstream school, alternative provision, residential setting or other SEN environment would be highly beneficial.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is patient, resilient, enthusiastic and genuinely passionate about helping young people succeed.

The position is initially offered on a long-term temporary basis through The Education Specialists, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent for the right candidate.
