Help a Child Make a Positive Start to Their School Journey
We are seeking caring, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistants to provide individual support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These rewarding roles involve working closely with pupils to help them access learning, build confidence, develop independence, and enjoy a successful school experience. Two of the positions will support pupils joining Reception in September 2026 as they begin their primary school journey, while a third role will support a pupil in Year 1. Each child has individual learning needs and requires tailored support to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping a child feel safe, understood, and able to engage positively in school life. You will work closely with class teachers, SEND staff, and families to provide personalised support aligned with each pupil's SEND learning plan. You will:
- Support your assigned pupil to access learning activities across the school day.
- Deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning activities.
- Help develop communication, social, emotional, and independence skills.
- Adapt resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
- Encourage participation, confidence, and positive relationships with peers.
