How to prepare for a job interview at The Education Specialists

✨Know Your Students

Before the interview, take some time to research the specific needs of students with SEMH. Think about how you can adapt your teaching methods to support their learning. This will show that you’re not just a great teacher, but also someone who truly understands and cares about the unique challenges these students face.

✨Showcase Your Creativity

Prepare to discuss examples of how you've used creative approaches in your lessons. Whether it’s through engaging activities or innovative lesson plans, demonstrating your ability to think outside the box will resonate well with the interviewers, especially in a role that values creativity.

✨Emphasise Teamwork

Since the school values collaboration, be ready to share experiences where you’ve worked effectively within a team. Highlight how you’ve communicated openly with colleagues to create a supportive learning environment. This will illustrate that you’re not just a lone wolf but a team player who contributes positively to the school community.

✨Prepare for Scenario Questions

Expect questions that ask how you would handle specific classroom situations, particularly with SEMH students. Think through your responses and consider using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. This will help you convey your thought process clearly and demonstrate your problem-solving skills.
