We’re working with a specialist SEMH academy in the North East and are looking for passionate, resilient individuals to join their team on a long‑term basis. This is a full‑time, Monday to Friday role supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. You’ll be working in a classroom setting, providing both learning support and emotional and wellbeing support to young people who can present with challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

  • General classroom support
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Building positive, trusting relationships
  • Managing and de‑escalating challenging behaviours
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Calm, patient and resilient.
  • Experience, or a strong interest, in SEMH or challenging behaviour.
  • Passionate about making a difference.
  • Can commit long‑term, Monday to Friday.
  • Experience in education, care, youth work or similar settings is ideal, but the right attitude is key.
