We’re working with an independent PRU in Middlesbrough and are looking for a classroom lead to join their team on a long-term basis. This role involves working with students who have been excluded from mainstream education, supporting their learning, engagement and behaviour in a smaller, more supportive setting.

The role:

  • Long-term position
  • Monday to Friday 9:00am to 2:30pm
  • Leading and supporting small groups of pupils
  • Working with students who may display challenging behaviour
  • Creating a calm, structured learning environment

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is confident leading a class or small groups
  • Has experience with young people, education, PRU or alternative provision (desirable)
  • Is patient, resilient and consistent
  • Is interested in developing a career in teaching or alternative education
