Are you a passionate and dedicated English teacher looking for an exciting opportunity in a supportive secondary school? We are seeking a qualified English teacher to join a well-established school in the Gateshead area for a full academic year as a maternity cover.

The Role

  • Teaching English to KS3 and KS4 students
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge pupils
  • Assessing and tracking student progress
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Maths curriculum

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or relevant qualification
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities

Please note, this is a main pay scale role and the pay range of £162.31 - £223.62 is linked to your current teacher pay scale. All appointments will be subject to stringent checks including referencing and an enhanced DBS check.
