Overview: A specialist SEND school is seeking an experienced and committed Deputy Headteacher to join its senior leadership team. The school supports pupils across Key Stages 2 to 4 with Autism and associated needs and provides a structured, nurturing and highly inclusive learning environment.

The Role

  • Supporting the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school
  • Leading and developing high-quality SEND provision across KS2–KS4
  • Supporting staff to deliver inclusive, high-impact teaching and learning
  • Monitoring standards, progress and outcomes for pupils with Autism and associated needs
  • Contributing to school improvement planning and quality assurance
  • Working closely with families, external professionals and local authorities
  • Playing a key role in safeguarding, behaviour, inclusion and wellbeing

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous SLT experience in a SEND school or specialist setting
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Autism and associated needs
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to support, challenge and inspire staff
  • A calm, reflective and solution-focused leadership approach
