The Education Network is recruiting an experienced and resilient SEMH Specialist to support one of our partner schools in Bradford. This role is ideal for someone with strong behaviour management skills and a passion for supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
About the Role
- Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
- Use de-escalation strategies, restorative approaches and trauma-informed practice.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional regulation and engagement.
- Support pupils with barriers to learning, including behaviour, attendance and mental health challenges.
- Work closely with pastoral teams, the SENCO, teachers and external agencies.
- Help create a safe, structured and supportive environment.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience working with SEMH pupils in a school, PRU, alternative provision or youth setting.
- Strong behaviour management and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- A patient, consistent and empathetic approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Training or experience in SEMH, de-escalation, trauma-informed practice or safeguarding (advantageous).
- Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential), such as TA Level 2/3, Youth Work, or Behaviour Support training.
