A specialist primary complex needs school in East Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a SEND Teacher who is passionate about supporting children with complex learning needs and wants to work in a nurturing, well-supported environment.
As a SEND Teacher, you will teach a small class of primary-aged pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism, severe and moderate learning difficulties, communication needs and associated physical or sensory needs. You will be supported by an experienced team of Teaching Assistants and a strong leadership team who place children at the heart of everything they do.
The Role:
- Teaching a small primary class of pupils with complex needs
- Planning and delivering highly differentiated and engaging lessons
- Creating a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Supporting pupils’ academic, social, emotional and communication development
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist professionals
- Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCPs and individual support plans
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with complex needs or in a SEND setting (desirable)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A patient, flexible and nurturing approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
