An alternative provision in South Birmingham is seeking a committed and engaging Science Teacher to teach small classes of students who have faced barriers to mainstream education. Job Role
- Teaching Science to small classes of secondary‑aged students
- Planning and delivering engaging, accessible science lessons
- Adapting teaching to meet a range of learning and SEMH needs
- Managing behaviour calmly and consistently within clear structures
- Working closely with teaching assistants and pastoral staff
- Supporting students to develop confidence and interest in science
- Tracking progress and celebrating achievement
You Will Need
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge in Science
- Experience teaching students with additional needs or in alternative provision (desirable)
- Excellent classroom management skills
