A highly regarded SEND school in South Birmingham is seeking an outstanding Lead Maths Teacher to drive Maths provision across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, working with students with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and some complex needs.

The Role

  • Leading Maths across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within a SEND setting
  • Teaching small classes of students with Autism, MLD and complex needs
  • Designing and developing an accessible, engaging and differentiated Maths curriculum
  • Supporting and mentoring other Maths teachers and support staff
  • Monitoring progress, outcomes and impact across the Maths department
  • Working closely with senior leaders to drive whole-school improvement
  • Ensuring Maths provision meets the needs of all learners and supports EHCP outcomes

The Ideal Lead Maths Teacher Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths across KS3 and KS4
  • Experience teaching students with SEND (Autism / MLD / complex needs)
  • Previous leadership or responsibility within a Maths department (desirable)
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A creative, solution-focused and inclusive approach to teaching
