English Teacher – South Birmingham – Part-Time (Wed/Thu/Fri)This amazing SEND school in South Birmingham is seeking a passionate English Teacher to teach small classes of students with Autism, ADHD and Moderate Learning Difficulties. This is a part‐time role (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), starting as soon as possible, and is ideal for an English Teacher who wants to make a meaningful impact in a SEND setting.
As the English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons from Key Stage 3 up to GCSE level, adapting your planning to meet a wide range of needs. You will be teaching smaller-than-average classes, supported by experienced Teaching Assistants who help ensure every student receives the attention they need to succeed. The role requires a QTS English Teacher who is committed to giving every student access to an outstanding education, regardless of the barriers that they face.
Job Role
Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4 to small groups of SEND students
Planning and delivering creative, accessible and engaging lessons
Adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
Building positive and trusting relationships with students
Collaborating with teaching assistants to support learning and wellbeing
Creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, valued and confident
You Will Need
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching English – in mainstream or SEND
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to differentiate lessons confidently
A calm, resilient and nurturing teaching style
Previous experience working with SEND students (desirable)
